Peter is truly the “Voice” of Fire & Rain. It was Pete’s initial vision that a tribute band featuring and concentrating on the soulful music of James Taylor would be fun, interesting and received warmly by our audience. Pete has the acoustic guitar parts of these songs down perfect, and as lead singer, creates the foundation that moves the band forward. You can hear Pete sing in the clips on our website.
Mike is the “Vision” of our band, as he designed our logo and website, takes care of making the band look professional and fresh. Mike plays bass and provides background vocals. In the past Mike has played guitar and sung with the bands Moonstone, The Fagan Brothers and Soul Purpose. As Mike explains; “I love these songs of James Taylor, as each song is a story on love, relationships and maybe a bit of sorrow, keeps us aware of being human, alive and striving for a small piece of perfection”.
Bob is the “Governor” that holds this band together. Bob is a keyboard wonder, can virtually play anything, and play it with style. Bob adds warmth and flavor to our music, filling in patches of strings, organ, classical guitar, horns …you name it and he does it. Bob has been playing piano since he was a youngster in styles from jazz, blues, rock, country, show tunes, well just about everything. Bob has played with various bands over the years including Soul Purpose, Joyful Noise and Indigo Jazz.
Nate is the “Heartbeat” of the band, bringing a fresh new approach to our music. He has studied music with Byron Hedgepeth from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and with renowned Chicago teacher Sol Garnier, amongst others. Nate has performed with the bands Eversojake, and Rendezvous, and also shares his passion for teaching in Chicago in his private studio. Nate also enjoys accompanying modern dance classes at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, and well being the house drummer for St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago.
